25 Daytona - open bow
 

Hey Guys - thinking of moving from a Checkmate to an Eliminator. Two questions - is the 25 open bow 5 to 6 mph slower than a closed deck, as I've read elsewhere? Any speed estimates for 650 hp, imco standoff box, open bow?? Thanks in advance.

Most customers that buy a catamaran with an open bow seem to either have kids, or there older and cant climb up and over the deck..... i dont like the look of any eliminator daytona w/ an open bow... i think it looks silly, but some like it....But anyway,, if your looking at that option,, then ya, expect it too be a lil slower,, and the IMCO Box doesnt do a whole lot....but if its an openbow,, then im guessing your not totally concerned on how fast it will go....

The 25 always looks great with the solid deck.....not opened..
but i've seen a few openbows for sale recently,, if your wanting to go that route.......

650HP, mid80s.....

The closed bow should run about high 90's +with a good setup. So low to mid 90's.

There has been a couple of threads in the past about the boxes on these boats. Seems to work quite well. Do a little searching.

Eliminator does have a 25 ICC, openbow walk/thru 2006 on their site forsale if your interested....

A closed bow with 650 will TRUTHFULLY run into the low 90's so with the Volvo Station Wagon option, I would expect mid 80's at best.

My closed deck ran 81 with a 500efi. 83.8 with 575hp , 91.1 with 575 and a black hawk drive and 110 with 900 and an SCX/SC shortie. Buddies CD ran same 81 ish with a 500efi and 94 to 96 with a 2.3 whippled 500efi ( 750 ish) hp.

Those are real world numbers.

The standoff box helps overcome some of the extra bow weight by giving the drive more leverage to carry the nose with less trim.
Not needed on a closed bow at all.
