What made you go w/ the Arneson drive..? haven't seen this on a speedster...?.... how is turning and handling around docks and small area's?...... can't be as good as with a bravo, imco, or indy drive...?..... Talk too me..?

You know.. You really are a dumb ****! Why can it not be as good?

boatcrzy 05-14-2011 08:42 PM

Arneson

Good point Rik.
Poker Run388 you need to chill a little, I know you love talking boats, and getting info. But you have probably never driven a boat with an arneson , as I have not either. So I would never comment on the driveability..Maybe the question should have been, " why did you choose an Arneson" just sayin

Just asking the question Rik..... I haven't personally seen and Eliminator 27 daytona w/ an arneson drive setup yet......I didn't say anything bad towards your product, was simply asking the question....I can't wait too see how it looks when its completed.... The 27s a great looking boat..!!

My assessment is correct.. You are a dumb ****! If you are so incoherent that you cannot comprehend your own writing then you qualify as an utter dumb ****.

Your use of a fallacious statement and then backing up the statement with your ignorance just proves it. Please take a lesson from the writings of Mr. Boatcrzy for for pointed out your shortcomings very quickly.

Poker.

As with Boatcrzy, I've never driven an Arneson boat as well, and have only spoken to a little handfull of people ever who has, so my seattime and personal experience is zero. But if you look around OSO and in the boating world, this has been up many times. The general understanding is, that the ASD's are among, if not the best handling performance drives around the docks out there today. You need to ask your questions as such, and not as assumptions or opinions of fact.
You will get more positive feedback this way, and better answers to boot. Carry on:ernaehrung004:

Back to topic.

Sweet ride:coolcowboy:

What gets even worst is that he openly endorses other manufacturers with a positive attribute that he himself has never experienced. Steve (aka pokerrunn388) you come onto a thread that is positive and you bring it down with such negative that you ruin a thread with this side track b.s.

Achmed 05-16-2011 08:14 PM

i think the better question would be... why not?

Achmed 05-23-2011 07:57 PM

i would like to hear more about the drive set up you're doing. glad to see someone is going to go outside the box a little and give this drive some exposure. can't wait to see it and find out how it performs. makes to much sense not to do. would love to see more pics. as it progresses

skydog 05-23-2011 09:38 PM

Let me know how drive works speed, planing, and holds up I have a 27' with about 1000hp that might need one. Nice!!!!!

Blown 33 Daytona 06-30-2011 02:22 PM

Any Updates? I seen the boat in person at Eliminator and it is beautiful. Nice choice. I do have a question about the Arneson. With a bravo or #6 the drive would be positioned in relation to the bottom of the outside sponsons, usually just below them. With the arneson coming straight off the center pod will it be low enough? I'm guessing the answer is yes because the boat, even at speed, will not get out of the water enough to lift the center pod out of the water? I'm sure someone knows the answer for sure. It's just something I've been wondering about. I think it is awesome that someone is finally using an Arneson instead of just sticking with merc stuff all the time.

+1 , I stopped in last weekend and saw the 27 while I was in Riverside.... Colors/rigging looks amazing.....

All great questions, hopefully Rik will answer em for us.. I'd love to go for a ride in it... The Arneson Drive in the back looks awesome in the showroom.... It looks like a race boat..!

skydog 07-02-2011 12:09 AM

Yes need info haha I might want one!!!!

Blown 33 Daytona 07-02-2011 02:01 PM

I bet it looks awesome. I didn't get to see it all rigged up. I would like to see someone swap out a bravo with one of these so we could see what kind of speed it picks up. I know some vee bottoms have picked up like 10mph.

Blown 33 Daytona 08-26-2011 03:31 PM

Updates?

I'm a little disappointed to see a forum sponsor calling a person names on this forum, even if the other person's statements (or in this case question) may not be accurate. Every drive system has its pluses and minuses. It doesn't mean the drive system is defective or substandard. In addition, no two people have the same opinions on the same product. What one person thinks is good, may not be good to another person. If we all thought the same, everyone here would own the same boat. It's up the manufacturer to create a desirable perception, image, and reputation of their product to build demand.

Michael, the internet is good and bad but it is a sad state when someone can make uninformed statements that others hold as gospel and put them out there for people to read or dissuade.

The comment I made was made after numerous statements by Steve on numerous threads that were and are ignorant. Here is a guy who has no relevant experience going onto an internet web forum telling the person who laid their $$ out that he has made a mistake with no substantial information to back this statement.

So, I can either let him continue to put out misleading, uninformed information or try to dispel it.

tbanzer 09-07-2011 04:57 PM

Is this the boat in the classified?http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o41728-en.html. Give away price if its as written

I'm sure it is very irritating to hear the same misinformation over and over, especially from the same person, but I don't recommend stooping to name calling. I think forum sponsors want to rise above that. If a potential customer drops in on one of these threads, without knowing all the background, and they see a forum sponsor engaged in name calling, they are probably going head for the hills. On the other hand, if the sponsor continually puts forth data showing that the misinformation is wrong (turning radius tests, time to turn, whatever), it would actually be good marketing. If the data is compelling enough, pretty soon other people will step in to repeat your data for you, too. Marketing is about repetition.

Michael, you are correct. My statement should have read.... “Steve, aka PokerRun 388” you are making statements which make yourself appear ignorant and uneducated. It might appear better for yourself to refrain from making such statements and misleading comments until you or do yourself a favor and consult someone with actual experience with both the manufacturers which you yourself listed as ideal as well as the Arnesons which you described as “can’t be as good”, or; just do like the rest of us and wait for the results to speak for themselves and then draw a more informed conclusion.

Michael, thank you for bringing this issue to my attention.

Rik

Captain YARRR 09-08-2011 05:10 PM

As an innocent bystander, I'd really love to hear why Arneson is the ideal choice for this application and not focus on the validity of someone being a dumb ass.

I'm trying to learn and people asking questions like that (let's pretend it was asked tactfully) is really helpful.

I agree. While I should let the owner of the boat answer why he choose Arneson Surface Drives over the other choices that everyone kept pushing upon him, I can say most likely he went this route because he knew it would work and he knew it would not break. I'll defer to him to answer any further comments.

dmann 09-08-2011 09:38 PM

Anyone know why he is not going to finish it ?

skydog 09-08-2011 09:42 PM

Yea would like to know too. If it is money that sucks and sorry to hear that......
