Way to go on the 6 drive! Now stage 1-4 upgrades are a no brainer! When is this boat going to hit the water?

fireguy 10-16-2011 02:14 PM

Really nice looking boat. Congrats, that's gonna be very cool!

Fuelish Pleasure 10-16-2011 02:24 PM

The boat should hit the water by Thanksgiving, hopefully sooner.

Whipple stage 4 upgrade will go on after the factory warranty runs out. I'm told it should increase HP to 850 or so.

Gotta make sure I'm out there to video the Maiden Voyage / Lake Test...

Wow Super Nice!!!! Wow Congrats!!!!!!!!!

After much anticipation, the new Speedster hits the water tomorrow morning for water testing. The boat has been beatifully rigged by the team over at Eliminator and they clearly exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to see how she runs.

Anymore progress on this boat?

Fuelish Pleasure 11-29-2011 10:54 PM

The boat is basically done but needs a bit more tuning. I had her out on Parker Strip for the long weekend and she ran flawless. Here are a few pics.

We tested the boat with a 5 blade 33P prop. Top speed is 105 on the vesselview out at Parker AZ. But, it's not pulling to the rev limiter and is a bit slow to plane. Should have a few more props to test in the next week or two.

You will get it dialed in? It just takes time. Was there any torque steer?

Yes, there's a bit of torque steer. We're toying with the idea of adding a torque pad to correct for this. Any other ideas or suggestion out there?

johnlomant 11-30-2011 08:10 PM

torque pad ill do the trick

Ya a torque tab should work well!

We need some new updates or pictures of this hot looking 27 Speedster pleeeeaaassssee

Had the boat out on Elsinore the other day for prop testing and to see how the boat performed with the Whipple Stage 3 Upgrade just installed. Wow...What a difference! The boat pops right up on plane now, accelerates hard, and runs real strong on the top end. Best number for the day was 113.2 mph with a Hering 5-blade 15.9" 33P 18 deg rake prop...and she was still pulling. Conditions were windy with 1-2 ft chop.

Thats awesome! Glad to hear it! Did you go with a torque tab?

No, we decided to hold off on the torque tab until we could try a few more props. We didn't notice any torque steer during testing, but poor water conditions could have had something to do with that.

so how much power do you have now ?

At max prop RPM of 5800, it should be making about 800 HP.

J.P. 12-26-2011 11:44 AM

Stage 3 already that's great,........don't blame you cuz waiting a full year for a warranty to expire is boring especially when you know the additional power is there,..and Teague Marine is just down the road.

I understand! With the right prop the torque steer might not be noticeable. What prop are you going to try next?
