New Eliminator owner

I have been looking for a mid size SO Cal boat for awhile and found one in Mesa AZ.

My wife and I picked this up last weekend for a great price.

Congrats on the new boat! Hope you enjoy your Eagle. I have definitely enjoyed ours so far!

Congrats, that looks like a nice ride.if you dont mind me asking, what kind of $$ did you pay, and what year is that? My buddy just bought a 2004 26 eagle xp from eliminator, and had it shipped to the east coast (NJ). Don't see alot of them over here, so i was just wondering. His boat is gonna turn some heads this summer...

JB4 05-10-2012 10:46 PM

love the graphics...

I bought it for 20K. Bringing it home cost me another grand with fuel, hotel and food. You dont see many around here either, atleast, thats what I thought until last week.

There are 2 more 25 Eagle's whithin 20 miles of my home. My wife and son saw one on the trailer 3 blocks from our house last weekend and a guy on a local car forum swears his buddy has the exact same boat as mine.

They do turn heads, especially at the dock or idling. Your buddy will be feilding a ton of questions when he hits the water.

The purple gelcoat had faded a little and was oxidized so I color sanded and buffed the deck a couple weekends ago. It now looks like this -

I would love to see pic's of other Eliminators, can we start a "Eliminator boat pic" thread?

IROCDave 05-26-2012 11:52 PM

Took the boat out today on Lake Washington and had a great time with the family. Tied up in Andrews bay with several really nice boats. The raft inclided a 130MPH Eliminator cat with SC Illmoor power palnts, 103 MPH Fountain, Schockwave Tremor, Active Thunder etc.

Heres a couple of pics of the boat while waiting for my wife to fetch the truck / trailer. Yes, she parks the truck and backs the trailer in.

P.S. Love that purple man!!!

IROCDave 06-08-2012 12:28 PM

Bad ass cat man, must be a lot of fun. I am amazed at how many Eliminators wound up back east. Not many SO Cal manufactures can say most of there product heads east of AZ.

skydog 06-08-2012 01:01 PM

Yous too buddy thank u!!! Yea I just love her!!!!!! :)

What program did you use to stabilize that video? Looked great, much better than the normal shaky boat video.

great looking boat.

IROCDave 06-09-2012 10:47 PM

The guy's son that filmed it said he used a really old video editing program, dont know the name of it. He took the vid with a phone, then downloaded it. I dont know what type of phone he used either. You can hit him up off over NW offshore, his name is Paul and goes by "mobuzz".

You can see his son filming in this video.

Nice boat man. I've had my 25 eagle now going on 6 years. May be looking to upgrade to something a bit bigger with more of a V in the front to cut the weekend waters. It would be a couple of years yet though.

Curious what you have for power and your top speeds you've seen so far?

IROCDave 06-11-2012 07:31 PM

Stock 502 Mag EFI, 26 4 blade Bravo prop, IMCO lower unit. The Gaffrig GPS speedo went TU just before I bought it. The previous owner said it did 72 - 75 depending on how much weight was in it. That was at 2800' elevation. It could use a little more prop as it will hit the rev limiter ( 5100ish RPM) trimmed up and only 4 people in it.

The Active Thunder in the 2nd video was doing 70 - 72 when we caught up to it. We had 6 people and almost full tank so I think 75MPH at barely above sea level is pretty close to actual speed.

I hear you on wanting a little deeper V. We have been out a couple more times since that video and the water was alot rougher, no way I would go over 50 MPH with this boat in that kinda water. Would need kidney belts and lots of larger screws to re attach interior panels.

IROCDave 06-25-2012 07:18 PM

Cloud, what engine / drive package do you have and what have you seen for speeds?

Cloud, what engine / drive package do you have? GPS confirmed MPH?

Verified speed with a tom tom last weekend, 67 MPH with drive all the way down ( no trim) and hit the rev limiter with minimal trim at 72 MPH. Had 4 people in the boat and 25 gallons of fuel. I would estimate crap / gear / people weight to be about 1K pounds. Need some advise, seems like the boat has more MPH in it but...it needs help out of the hole. At initial launch it hooks decently but thenthe prop cavitates until on plane. More people / weight seems to help get on plane and doesnt effect top end MPH??

It has K planes and they dont do much for getting on plane, prop still cavitates. The minimul speed to keep it on plane ia about 23 MPH. On one hand it could use a larger prop for top end to keep it off the rev limiter but then I would guess that the cavitation would be worse getting on plane?

Seems like it needs a drive spacer?

Anyone else have the same boat and engine / drive package that could give me some advise? I would like it to get on plane quicker and be able to utilize all of the HP from the stock 502 mag EFI 415HP.

I've got a slightly modded 502 mpi (dynoed at 468hp), with a bravo drive, and a BBlades 28P bravo 4 blade prop. Comes on plane easily with 1/2 throttle no matter the load. Tops out most any conditions at 78 mph @ 5,100rpm, livorsi gps. 80 mph if the stars are aligned....

Never had a 3-blade prop on it, so don't know what that would do. I would assume faster top end (couple mph maybe) , but not as good out of the hole.

Can stay on plane at about 2,300 rpms, approx. 23mph with no tabs pulling a skier or wakeboarder. Have had it as slow as 18mph pulling me on the wakeboard but the throttle has to be managed constantly to keep it on plane.

IROCDave 07-23-2012 09:13 PM

Cloud, how far below the transom is the center line of the prop shaft?

IIRC, mine is about 6 1/4" below. It has an IMCO lower unit, not sure if it's a shorty and didnt see any ID or part numbers on it.

cloudmaster_321 07-24-2012 08:41 AM

I have no idea, i'd have to measure it.

IROCDave 07-25-2012 10:17 PM

If you get a chance I would really like to know that dimension. I think the prop is to high on my boat for all around use. Either it's the lower unit or raised X dimension from the start.

Eliminated572 08-08-2012 08:22 AM

Congrats on the new boat. I have the 280 xp platform and so far I have noticed the boat has been fairly happly with the B1 props. I would try going up in pitch before you do anything else first. What position do you normally run the tabs with? Normally plaining I have them down about 2-3 and trimmed all the way in. Seems to plain fine. Then I try to run as close to zero as I can until it starts to want to porpoise with the trim about 2 out. Overall the ride is a bit smoother with some tab in the water while cruising.
