Repowering my 33 Daytona

I am considering repowering my 1999 33' Daytona...Currently have 900 HP and may go to 525's or 575's....

Anyone know what type of speed I can expect with either of these options?

What kind of speed do you get with current power?

Id say roughly 105 with the 525's and maybe 108 with the 575's

During testing the boat ran 126 i am told... Not seeing anything like that currently 118-120...

If i could squeeze 100 out of 525's that would work for me..

Why would you want to change to smaller motors? Insurance?

Lots of reasons...with the fact I have my 3 kids and there friends with me most of the time I do not run the boat over 90 with them on board...so since 98% of the time I am running at the 60-80 mph range why have the extra maintenance, gas, insurance, drive wear, ect

Do not get me wrong I love going 120 mph and would like going 140 mph but there are tradeoffs to everything.

That makes good sense with the way you use your boat. Just remember your going to have to spin the engines pretty hard for your 80 mph cruise. I had a similar set up before and it was okay but my boat just started to perform well and be fun above 100mph. You'll lose some of the "fun" factor but a lot less money will bleed from your wallet.
