single engine 28 Daytona ???'s

Well I sold my 33 and have been in the market for a smaller single engine cat..I was wonder what you guys thought about the single engine 28's..I have been looking at one with a 620hp 540 and it has a twin stepped hull..Just would like to know what kinda speeds to expect vs HP and how they handle?

lots of weight for a single drive. If your gonna go single Id stick with the 27 daytona. Even the older low profile 28's are alot of weight on a single drive. Congrats on your sale. Its a tough market for cats. I sold my 30 recently and now Im starting the search for its replacement. but Im going the opposite way. looking for a 36.

Yea,i agree..weight would definatly be something to consider for drive reliability.. But just from my experience drive life has a lot to do with the person behind the sticks..I'm thinking if the hp is accurate (620) that it should run mid 80"s..am I way off??

Take a look at this 27' Speedster. This is the boat to own right now if your wanting a single.

I agree w/ the other guys. 28s too big/heavy for one engine...

The 27 would be a better option for you, if you want a single.

So what kind of weight would you guys say I'm looking at?I see a lot of single engine 27-29 foot Vee's out there..I would think a Eliminator Daytona would be lighter and easier on drives then say a single 27 fountain with the same power?

Size wise

Just my saying a 27 fountain is really a 23 to 24 foot. Because its has the extra foot nose on the front and a build in swim platform on...... If its helps I have a true 28 foot checkmate with 700hp on a bravo drive with 80 hours on it with no issue so far!!

Good luck
