I would like to find a wind screen for my 250 Eagle XP
6 Attachment(s)
I would like to find a windscreen as the little pop up deflectors give up above 80mph. I talked to Eliminator & they want 2200.00 I would like to find something less expensive as I have invested a lot of money already in revamping it. I haven't started work yet because I just had shoulder surgery and am not able to work like that for a little while. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Randy

I'm in the same "boat" , pun intended. My boat wont touch 80 but low to mid 70's isnt fun on colder days. The last quote I got from Eliminator was around 2K delivered, but I'm sure the price difference is due to shiiping costs. I talked to the owner of the company that makes the windscreens for Eliminator and he wanted more than Eliminator did. Cant blame him, I am one a one time purchaser, Eliminator is a major client for them.
2K seems excessive, but maybe not in the long run. I'm planning on ordering a windscreen from Eliminator in June. If you find something for less post it up. |
Which company did you talk to? I may be wrong but I believe there have been either 2 or 3 suppliers over the years. One supplier(I'm trying to find the name) was a previous acrylics supplier and is VERY AGGRESSIVELY priced.

TRY THESE GUYS,
THEY MAY HAVE PATTERNS http://www.finneys.com/marine.html OR AcryliCo Phone (561) 304-2921 Fax (561) 304-2922 |
I talked to a lady at aero marine. She told me to talk to the factory also. She also said the price isn't that much for the actual windscreen, it's the mounting hardware & brackets that cost a lot plus they just make the shape they don't do any of the finish work. Randy

Wayne Earl Mfg........... Paid $1,600 back in 3/2011.
|
cloudmaster, I talked to Jay @ Wayne Earl today & he told me 1800.00 so I told him to go for it. He said about 2 weeks so I guess I'm set If I can make everything come together like I want with this boat it is going to be an awesome piece of floating & flying fiberglass!! I will start a thread when I can physically start working on it. Stay tuned, Randy
|
did you go with the hidden hardware, or exposed hardware?
I'd post a picture of mine, but looks like a paid member only option...... |
I will have to ask about that. If you email your pic to me I can post it for you. Randy

W/E wouldnt commit to what the mounting hardware type that would be supplied with the windscreen which was a deal breaker for me. I asked for a couple of photo's of their work and the guy told me to search youtube for a certain video of an Eliminator to get an idea of what they would send me. It was a low quality vid of 30' cat moving away from the camera. Post up pictures when you get it installed, I'm waiting in the wings until I see some higher quality pics of the hardware and screen. |
I just revisted the emails from Jay with W/E from November of last year and the qoute of 2K did not include the mounting hardware.....
|
I was quoted $1800.00 complete with hidden hardware + shipping & he is supposed to send some pics of the kit before they ship. I will keep in touch with Jay as things progress. Randy
|
If it's not to much trouble, can you post up the pic's? I really need to order a windscreen but want to see the hardware before doing so.
|
When I get some I will. Randy
|
Thanks man. I would like to have a windscreen in place before the Chelan poker run. I just cant spend 2 grand without knowing what it will look like.

Thanks for the PM, the windscreen looks great. Please post up pics of the install and give us some feedback on your opinion of the hardware and over all fit and finish. We plan on attending the Lake Chelan poker run in July and I would realy like to have a windscreen installed by then.

My new windscreen arrived today. I checked it out & here are a couple of pics of the side pieces with the hidden hardware. Randy
|
Looks good. Please fill us in on installation/fitment. Oh and some after pics!
|
I will do. The sun was coming out earlier today & I thought maybe I can pull the cover and at least place it up to get a look & see but mother nature has a different plan, Stupid rain! This weather is getting ridiculous!!! I can't even get my garage finished so I can work on the boat inside. Randy

Nice looking hardware. As mentioned before, would love to see progress and finished project photo's.
|
IROCDave, I started a thread in the restorations & upgrades section. Come & check it out lots of pics & could use some input from some fellow Eliminator owners. Randy
