Through hull water pickup help!

I've got a 2001 daytona 25' and I'm going to put a through hull water pickup on it and not sure of which pickup to use and where it needs to be on the boat. The boat will be a 110 mph+. I plan on using 1.25" lines and probably a 2 stage water pump.

I'm going to cut a relief in the hull but not sure on how much needs or can be done?

What do I do about blocking off the pickup on the outdrive?

Thanks for any help!

You can mount it on the transon of the boat or drill a hole about 1-2 ft forward of the transom on the sponson and mount it there. I have seen in done both ways. I prefer transom mount. If you go the transom route, try to mount it to where it is not in front of the bullet of the drive. That will help to keep a better hydrodynamics to the drive.

You can get a block off plate where the pickup hose connect on the inside transom assemble. I let the water free flow thru the drive for cooling.

I want to do a transom mount but the step on the back is only 3" tall so my options on that are slim. As for drilling a hole in the bottom should I do the middle sponson or one of the outside ones?

Do outside driver side bottom. The water pick up off the back, water has a ton of air in it from the step In front of pick up. (Not good)
