27 Daytona ICC Speed Question?
Looking at possibly getting back into a cat. Saw a 2004 27' Daytona ICC (closed deck) with a stock 425hp. Seller is claiming under optimum conditions and light fuel 80mph. Any clues to true GPS speed? Thanks.

Probably about right. Gonna be real boring though IMO. I would find one with at least a 525.

Is that going down hill. |
With the current!

Does that mean you are done with the 24 pantera
already? |
I love the Pantera and it suits me perfect for my area but once you get bitten by the boat bug my ADD kicks in and I start looking at other shiney objects. LOL My last go fast boat was a 22 Talon and always had the idea of going back to a larger cat. Just doing some homework if I come across another good deal. There are a bunch of these 425hp Eliminators out there but no one seems to want to give an accurate GPS speed. I'll call the factory and see what they say.

Give an accurate GPS speed LOL, thats a understatement. I am sure some times you get the real speed but for the most part I wouldn't believe anybody from what I have seen. Only way is to get in the boat and find out first hand. Dare I ask how fast the pantera is gps?

80mph on Gaffrig GPS speedo telltail. Can show or send pics off telltail. LOL

i have a 2006 27 icc with a 496ho and on my tattle tail it shows 78 mph.....stock bravo x drive, no shortie.... was told 2-3mph with shortie... i have a 525efi out of my old 2004 26 icc that im building to put in the 27 icc.. that boat was awsome any day 88mph..

Thank you very much daytona27, Very respectable speed for stock power and good info. Appreciate it! Any other scoop on the 27 pro or con would also be welcomed.
|
Take my advice.....it's just getting fun and packing air at 65-75 mph. Get one that runs at least 90.
|
yes, for 425hp it is respectable, just boring...i love my 27 icc... cons on the boat would be it doesnt have nearly the cabin room that my 26 icc had... but i like the extra height above the rubrail (deck) and the way eliminator designed the dash... more modern looking... and the engine room is harder to get into... (smaller hatch) my 26, the top of the seat came up with the hatch and it was the whole width of the rear... and easier to sit on... 27 slopes down...pros... more modern design, re-sale, ...( im sure you already know this, but the hulls of the 26 and the 27 are identical hulls) hope this helps you...
|
Sorry.... its been awhile since I replied to this thread, but I want to correct my last post....I meant the 27 does not have nearly the "COCKPIT" room as the 26...
