I bought a 2001 26 Daytona last summer and had it out 3 times. I have owned and run fast V's for 36 years and the Daytona was a learning curve. If you have enough HP and can get the boat to fly you trim the drive back down at top speed. I was only able to do this without loosing speed the last time out. The 26 / 27 like a 3 inch shorter drive.
Just take it in steps - get the feel of the boat and how it handles before you get too comfortable. Take it easy.
The 26 wont even start acting like a tunnel until you get above 80 MPH.
Where are you located?

I am located just north of Atlanta.
