1982 Excalibur Hull ID Location
A friend of mine is looking at a 24ft excalibur. The boat is a 1982 single engine TRS drive. The price is right but there is no Hull ID stamped in the transome of the boat.
Was this put in a different location on these boats?\ The boat is in Canada is it possiable they did not stamp it because Hull id's were not required in Canada? If it was never given a hull ID what steps would need to be taked to get it an ID here in the states. Thanks Rob |
Re: 1982 Excalibur Hull ID Location
Rob: a friend of mine has what I believe to be an Excalibur 24 and he cannot find any hull number on it. He does not kow the year or type. The boat is pretty nice with a single Arneson. How's the Sutphen?

Thanks for the reply Matt. What city and state does he live in and how did he title it?
That boat with an arenson must move pretty good. I really love the sutphen. I just need a little more room so it's actually for sale. Rob |

Rob: no idea how he titiled it and yes it moves good, throws a mean rooster tail. I am just guessing that its an Excal. Good luck with your sale.

Re: 1982 Excalibur Hull ID Location
There is an excalibur copy on Ebay right now from canada. It was made by Mlr Yachts or something like that. It looks like a good copy of the original boat. Could yours be one like this?

Re: 1982 Excalibur Hull ID Location
I had a 1982 32' excal with a similiar problem. Excalibur engraves the hull ID into the gelcoat and if the boat has been painted it can be difficult to find. I found mine by looking from different angles and with different light at the upper right corner of the transom below thr rub rail. Look hard it should be there.
