1979 excalibur info
i just purchased a 1979 excalibur 24' with the original twin 200 blax max's that look like new.the boat has been in storage since 1984.kept inside garage.i cant seem to find anyother outboard models.the boat is in excellent condition, with no stress cracks and only a few scratches.motors were last ran in 2001.and the hydro lines need to be replaced.i payed $6500 for it and given the condition of it i diddent think that was too bad.any info would be great.thanks for your time.frank in daytona.also how do i post pics?

Hey Knarf,
Welcome aboard! Sounds like you got yourself a fun ride there. I believe you have to get a paid membership to be able to post pics. But trust me it's well worth it. |

By the looks of it I would say that you got a great deal, good luck with it, nice boat. I think I have an old Powerboat test on that hull with an I/O if you are interested.

Matt It looks like my 1980 24 might finally hit the water in the next couple of weeks. |
Thanks very much fobes for faxing that article from Powerboat. It makes for some very interesting reading.
I have finally put together some pics of my 24. The first 3 are from before I owned it. I bought from MrExcal in Feb of 08 and had some engine work done. We finally tested it in August of 08 and found that the fuel tank was leaking and needed to be replaced. It hasn't hit the water yet this season but with any luck it should be done in the next few weeks. The on water video is from our one and only test session on the James River. http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p...xcalibur%2024/ |
