27 Excalibur Flatdeck

Hi,
I Need a lesson in Excaliber 27, the sit down version with flatdeck. The particular boat is a 1980. Single inboard.

-I know people talks about the hull is from a Mag 27, but I cant really see the typical concav bow free boards that the 27 Mag has. Whats the story?
-Hull layup, bad/good?
-Quality? Compares to Panteras, Mag's, Banana's from the same time.
-Handle big water?
-Any race history in the 27?

Thanks
Mange

Mange here is a 27' Excaliber that raced back in the early 80's, but I think they only had a 7' beam. They looked to be a stretched 24'. Most of the race boats that I can remember were OB like this one, but we had a single IO race here in the Silver Cup Series, {ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE] and it ran well. Also I have seen a few pleasure single IO's. Never heard any thing bad about Excaliber.

Big thanks Mark!

Yes it looks more narrow than the typical Aronow/Mag 27 hull. Stretched 24 sounds correct. Stretched from the 24 Excalibur then?
Yes I have my eyes on a single in board 454SC

Cool race boat that 27 outb. !!

Thanks
Mange
