24 Excalibur X dimension??

What's the best X dimension on a 24 with Bravo setup? I have a 1973 Cheetah (Excalibur) and was running a bravo drive at the original X which is 7 inches below the bottom with a 27 Mirage. The boat is fast but I need to run the tabs dropped below the bottom and minimal trim to keep the boat under control. I swapped to a 2 inch shortie which put me 5 inches under and ran alot better. I know this is still to low so I want to pull the motor, seal the transom and raise the drive. Need to know where I should be. Here's some pics also.

Also considering going to a #4 drive with extension box. Any thoughts on this setup versus the Bravo?

Chris,,that is a real nice looking boat .
But i agree,,drive is way to deep.

By looking at the pictures of your transom,,i think it will work out real good with the #4 and the box.
Plus no need to do any kind of glass work ,the SSM box will cover all that and i say u start at perfect level with the prop shaft ,u can always go down up to 3 inches and the SSM props are surface drive props ,,so it should not be an issue.
