Default 24 excalibur test run

This is my buddies 78 24 excalibur. He bought just the hull and trailer for 1500 not a bad deal.Just put a brand new bravo and transom assembly, dash, gauges, controls, wiring,
exhaust, new 468 that makes about 450 hp. Pretty much everthing is new. We ran it today and it ran awesome. What a great running hull. For the first time out without playing around with props it ran 70 MPH. Not to bad for the first run.I am sure with the right prop and some dialing it in it will run 75 or so.Here are some pics from today.

freaking cold.We tried a 25 mirage plus but it was recon. a few times and the boat just ran flat. Then tried a 24 bravo one and that seemed to work the best.I want to try a 25 rev. next

Looks GREAT!!!
The first day out makes all your work worth while.

We thought we were the only ones in the country working on an old "X" this winter....can't wait to see more picks.
We just sent our bolsters out today to get re-covered.

Default speed

I bought 4 new 24's from the factory with the 330 pkg. Would bring them home, sell the new 330, then go my chevy dealer and buy a LS6 crate motor, install it pick up 10 miles per hr.The 330 boat ran 60mph, with LS6 70.great boat. Put a 468 550hp in last one boat ran 82 but was no fun. If your boat will bet. 70-75 relax and enjoy it. Yes I am a old man.
