31 excalibur restoration
I am now starting to begin my excalibur project. Its a 1978 NAP hull. I think its kevlar hull but still trying to confirm. Boat is in very good shape for its age and will be getting a pair of old school 420hp 454s and trs drives. Working on stripping the hull now and will do a complete rerig/ rewire. Im sure ill have lots of questions as i go!

Turns out boat will need a new transom. I am now trying to decide if going to bravo while im doing it is a better choice. I have access to 2 gimbals and 1 drive already. Anyone ever change one to bravo? I know zaine did but he doesnt post anymore

Yes i am. Been slow going as work and life has been busy. I got the transom out, engine stringers and bulkhead too. Once the new bulkhead, stringers and transom are done i am going to paint the hull and deck as close to original as possible.
I have aquired 2 bravos, transom assemblies, offshore mounts, k planes, marine machine full hyd steering, zero effort controls, new gauges, lighting, wiring harnesses, drop out bolster seats, various rigging components. I have almost everything to build a pair of nice 454s i just need to decide on cams.
Its been lots of work so far with plenty more to go. Hoping to have it out in 2021

I am also repainting the deck in mine this winter... pulling the motors and doing a mild build. Still looking at cam choices as well. If you went with aluminum heads, intake and exhaust manifolds with the weight savings going to the bravo you could be pulling close to 500 lbs off the back of the boat
