3 blade vs 4 blade on 40' Hawk

I have a 40' Excalibur Hawk and was wondering if anyone has moved from 3 blade Mirages to 4 blade Bravo or Hydromotive props, if so what were or are the advantages and disadvantages you experienced, I have been told that the 4 blades give more stern lift and a higher cruise speed at a lower rpm....please inform me, Thanks, Fred

I have a 40 also i ran 4 blade but i also put a set of 250 megablowers on it the boat did have more stern lift ran faster at lower rpm plus it made it get up and go better off the start..

Gottime, how much did the 250's help you?....what size motors are you running with what mods on them?...Thanks Fred.

Fred the only thing i did to my motors was fresh set of pistons bored the motors 30 over put a set of full roller cams and lifters the motors were set of stock 454's the megablowers woke them right up ran 7 1/2 lbs of boost all summer long boat ran great between the motors and props i saw an increase of 10 MPh on the boat. ran lower RPM for cruising speed also

I thought the Megablowers were the big ones not the 250's....
