Fired up the boat on a hose with a bravo 1 getting ready for the long weekend. As someone was watching me put it in and out of gear they said the saw some wobble on the prop. I go back there and look and sure as **** its got some runout. Enough to make the drive jiggle at idle in gear. So either the prop, prop hub, or prop shaft have a wobble. But i dont feel anything while driving besides maybe comming off of idle to plane or at the very top end. But I did my ujoints to take care of that. Haven't water tested since. I was going to have my prop checked out anyway and I will also check the shaft for runout when removed I read somewhere between a maximum of .005 and .010. Ive had the boat for 4 years and never hit anything. My question is will runout/wobble cost any top end speed? I feel like it should have more in it. But i hit 5400ish and it stops seems like it has more. Will wobble/runout increase the chances of prop washout/blowout in the water? I feel like ive had that happen a couple times while owning this thing. Also are there any places that will straighten the shaft and what kind of cost is usually involved if i give them the lower or just the shaft.

What exactly would I need to replace if I wanted to swap in a Bravo 1? Is it just a lower unit change? How should I go about selecting a gear ratio? It’s a 22’ boat with a 502, aiming for 60+mph on top end.

Boat has been sitting for a few years, I just noticed they looked cracked and deteriorated when draining the lower unit oil, should I be changing these before it goes in the water for its first test run in 3-4 years? They were not leaking, oil showed no signs of water intrusion.
