wipe on and off? I tried thinner and it didn't work.

just put some acetone on a clean rag and drag it across with some elbow grease. may have to go over it serveral times if its really marked up. it evaporates pretty fast.

Used the acetone on my old rubrail insert with fair results. Don't soak the rag, just damp, then work fast. Soaking it will make the insert soft. Try to keep off the molding. But I did use a rag at times heavy with acetone to rub out scratches in the molding. It softens the plastic enough that you can rub across the scratches until it 'melts' smooth. I did notice that the insert got dirtier faster and easier and lost the shine after using acetone. Ended up replacing the insert with a new one and no longer use acetone. Black streak remover or bleach white only now.
