Re: wind deflector for fountain fairing??
I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but I picked up a couple of these from www.windaway.com, they work like a charm. There is also a guy that makes a really nice of similar ones....oops, i left his email at work.

the above windaways look very similar to my homemade ones (theres a thread in the Fountain section) except they are even taller and mine work awesome.......thats looks like the ticket!!!!
do you want it to go right across the full width of the windshield and protect the rear passengers too???........be a tall order for just a deflector.........doug

Re: wind deflector for fountain fairing??
no flip ups for me. I want one long piece that mounts to the top front of the fiberglass fairing and has a slight bend to raise the air over the cockpit. about 1-2" high.

you want a lip 1 - 2" high that will "raise the air over the cockpit" .........mine are like 4" high and thet do a real nice job for me only .......sit right behind me in the aft bench ........you get chopped up gusty wind......sit up on the sunpad you get much cleaner, easier to deal with air........your really reaching to expect a one to two inch lip to give you a still pocket over the whole cockpit.........doug

Here is a pic of mine that is 1.5" high and works well for the people up front.
Not sure how well it works in the backseat.
Two through bolts in the windscreen. Removable, so I did not have to alter my cockpit cover. Need to fab up some fasteners to replace the wingnuts.
Made from 1/8" thick 6061 T6 aluminum.

Re: wind deflector for fountain fairing??
Bad Girl, I worked at Fountain for 18 years and all wind deflectors on alumium farings were made from a 3/8" or 1/2" thick peice of plexiglas or Lexan about 5" in height that was heated uniformily and bent (or curled)up so that2-3" were protruding over the upper edge at a angle less than 90'\. I beleive you could find or fabricate a smaller one that could be hinged AND adjustable and wouldn't collect dirt under it like the OEM part does.
