It's what your using to wax and you do not want to clear over gel.

marine clean offers a hell of a wax for our boats . you may want to p.m him as per cost and application and such.

as for clearing over old gel it is a banaid for sure and IF done right it will last some what . the look of the bad gel will surely pop off after the clear is applied. but keep in mind it is temporary, and pending on the cost in your area and whos doing it's level of ability, for the average consumer re-gel may better benefit you.

oh and thankyou Rick, and its spelt Bo.;)

What would a cost guestimate be to re gel a boat? Say Something like a 35' Cigerette below the rub rale or water line? Do they charge per foot or square foot or time and materials? Say we are just talking white Gel no fancy colors. I know this a dumb question but I have always wondered how they determine a quote on this?

I imagine they figure how long it's going to take, including prep, getting the boat in a position to do the job and how much material is going to be needed, then give a quote. That's how I give quotes in my business, and I'm sure it's no different. Depending on the size of the job, I sometimes add a line on my estimate program called "FUF", which stands for fck up factor.
