Default painting a heat exchanger

Hi,
I have a new copper exchanger that needs to be painted . I was thinking of using self etching primer and then painting it. Is this a good way to paint copper? Thanks

I've never actually used it on copper but would certainly think that should be fine. I tend to lean toward ppg's DP epoxy primers though. What color are you spraying it?

If you are just going black you can shoot it with a spray can of merc's grey primer & a can of the phantom black drive paint. Its cheap & works well.. Jamie
