Default Leave my lower bare aluminum?

I'm either going to repaint my lower or sand it down and leave it bare. I'm thinking leaving it bare may be the best most durable option. Anyone reason why this would be a bad idea? anyone done it?

If I do paint it I would actually like to have it powdercoated. If I do go that route will the lower have to be taken apart? Or will all the components in there be safe in the powdercoating oven.

thanks
