Default Wet Sanding 101

Can someone please fill me in on the 'Basics' of wetsanding. I have a very good idea just need the reassurance. I have to wetsand and then buff faded boat numbers from stickers on a boat, and then a whole jet ski.

On gel you can start kind of coarse if you need to level the surface. Somewhere in the 600 to 800 range in the worst areas and step up from there to 1000 then 1500. Use slightly soapy water and just take your time with it. make sure to keep the surface and water clean and squeegee the surface often to check progress. Gel is very hard on paper so get plenty of it.
