Agreed! Start with the 3M Fast Cut compound, if needed, then follow up with the Finess-It. Then on dark colored paint follow with the 3M Ultrafina. When it comes to polishing products absolutley nothing can compare to the 3M products, nothing, I have tried them all and 3M is the best. Follow the instructions, use the right pads and you will have excellent results. This does assume you understand how to work a buffer, no way should your hand work be better than a rotary buffer if used correctly.
Just read your first post again, an orbital is ment to put on wax, not to be used with compounds and polishing material. You need a variable speed buffer, like a DeWalt, to get real results with compounds. The orbital just won't cut it, no pun intended.
