Removing a fresh gelcoat repair
#1
Had a 12" scratch repaired a couple weeks ago that was in the gel only. The new gel does not match as well as I'd like, plus the repair is a larger area now. Can I sand the fresh gel down/off to the original gel, basically to the point of where the repair looks more like the scratch was filled in flush as that would look less noticable than the larger off color repair? Not sure if the new gel eats into the old gel.
Thanks
Thanks

Yes!
Wet sand it off and you will end up back at the original gel. The new gel is sitting on the original gel, just make it go away and you will end up with a very small discolored area, the scratch, that looks different. Use a sanding block so it dosen't get all wavey on you.

It was sprayed.
I ended up paying a guy come and shoot the transom and the scratch. I wasn't comfortable to do the transom myself.
