Default transom thickness

i just finished replacing my transom, but have a question... the originial thickness was 2" and I am now at 1 15/16. I seem to remember reading that the alpha drive needs something like 2-2 1/4". How critical is this 1/16"?

The layup went like this: original transom glass/1 1/2oz mat/3/4" ply/ 1 1/2 oz mat/ 3/4" ply/bi ax/bi ax

Default

nevermind, i decided i hadnt come all this way with the transom replacement to try to get out of 20 min more work. i added 2 layers of mat and 2 layers of biax around the gimbal hole (about 3" wide) and will manipulate as needed with the grinder to achieve proper measurements.
