Default Chipped Fiberglass

I have several chips in the fiberglass on the bottom of my boat. They're located on the edge of the first step and I can see the woven part of the fiberglass. Can I use 5200 to fill these in? The chips are aproximately dime sized. I'm going to Desert Storm April 27 so the boat won't be ready if I take it to the shop.

Order a small one once tube of ready to go patch paste from spectrum color. Make sure they send hardner. Two razor blade fills after a scuff and acetone wipe. Like sheet rock. Then sand and buff 320-2000 buff by hand. Spectrum color.com bayliner off white. Don't worry about the name it is quality.

Thanks for the info. I don't feel comfortable sanding as I've never done it or seen it done before. I may use this process and have a shop sand it after Desert Storm. I was thinking of a temporary fix to get through D.S.
