Carnuba or not to Carnuba?
Well I did some great repair work, thanks to Dave. I now need to provide some protection to my gel, hull and top side. I have always been a big fan of good old yellow carnuba. The research i am seing on here says do not use carnuba but never realy said what to use.
So what is safe, effective?
We have a muddy lake and I want to get a few good coats of something on it.

Carnauba offers good gloss but poor durability in this environment. Most boat owners I know use a polymer sealant which provides good protection from the elements and provides a decent shine.
If you have made gel coat repairs I would suggest not putting anything on the repaired area for a few weeks to allow for the gel coat the fully cure. Styrene monomers can still be emitted from the surface of the gel coat even though it is dry to the touch.
Once you are ready check out Hula Boat Care's Big Kahuna Polymer Sealant.
