Once I was happy with the angles, shapes and sizes I cut the parts from marine plywood (3/4) looking back now I see that was WAY TO THICK and OVERKILL..
What you don't see if the 3 or 4 other throttle boxes I made and junked until I was happy with one that didn't interfere climbing in and out and was comfortable on the arms.
The rear part also is a "foot rest" for the passenger seats. This will also hide cables and what not.

May I ask an educational question?
Any reason not to use Balsa for all your side panels etc.
also sandwiched in glasss to keep the weight that much less?
Thanks again
Great work
Jon

* Cock pit was wet during this stage.. roof leak
I than glassed the base down with 1708 (bad picture) once that was finished I glassed in the throttle/foot rest/counsel part.
I than glasses in the sides with chop. It has pleanty of strength in back with a layer of 1708 so I seen no need to was any.

For the counsel area / foot rest / throttle.. once again solid strength was my concern. I knew the center counsel and foot rest would take a beating so I wanted it strong.. The throttle box could have been made from balsa looking back at it now, but I was on a roll with the jig-saw. lol

The seat brackets were welded up, holes drilled and set in perfect position.
The brackets have holes drilled so shorter people can un-bolt the seat and move it to a comfortable position.

next we laid a couple sheets of 1708 cloth on the inside for strength.
2 Sheets on each side first than 1 large sheet down the middle that rolled over the fist sheets. This gave us a 2 layer bond on the corners.

Now the canopy is stiff enough to flip around or drag up and down off the boat...
I first cut the canopy "hatch" to make getting in and out as easy as possible.. than we started mocking up were we would want the windows places. (shape, size..etc..)

I think (so far) I like the sharp / straight look instead of the curved look. The reason being is the boat has a lot of square lines and I feel the square look will match better with the hull.
