Default Epoxy and 410 filler

Blueprining the bottom of my boat. Mainly concerned with the pad on the boat. After it is all filled and leveled out with epoxy and 410 should the work be covered with a layer of fine cloth? Is the filler OK to just paint from there.

How thick is the filler going to be? You may also want to look into something like Ultra Fair if you want to use an epoxy system. Much easier to and work with.

Not more that 3/16. I am mainly concerned with the edges. They seem like it would be easy to knock the corners off. Most is like about 1/16 but have a few small spots on the edges of the pad that are thicker
