Default coarse area on bow

I thought I remembered seeing a thread about removing the coarse area on the bow of the boat, the sides of the boat are all sanded and I just need to finish off the bow area, I would like to remove that coarse looking patches on both sides.

should be just a cast pattern in the gel if its still the factory finish, sand her down with 80 and step up to a finer grit when you get down to level. You may have to prime or seal it depending on how far you have to go.
