Default Epoxy Paint for bilge?

anyone ever used a two-part epoxy paint for their bilge? I have a friend who is a commercial painter, and he has about a half-gallon of un-catalyzied epoxy paint he told me I could have to spray my bilge. I just don't know how well it would hold up, or if it could cause problems. I was just going to use the rustoleum with hardener, but free is free. Can paint like this be sprayed through an HVLP gun? Can Epoxy paint be reduced?

Default

I painted my bilge with epoxy white and it stained. I recently used polyurethane white and it seems to be much more stain resistant.
