Default Putting in new stringers, Can I leave a little tabbing? Plus more Q's

302 Formula 1981

Putting in new stringers, Can I leave a little tabbing? I ground them out they are about an inch high and hold the wood perfect.

To roughen the glass do you all use 40 grit 4" grinder?

This job sucks. I can even breath with a mask... What am I doing wrong?

In the bilge what do you use to degrease before grinding?

I do not want to put the foam back, is this fine?

Thanks

Tabs are fine if you are ref to hold the new wood cut for the stringers? Did you completely cut all the stringers out? No reason to cut out the complete stringer(glass). One side about 1/4 the way up is fine. That way you have a orig line to follow. You can use paint thinner or acetone to clean before and after priming, before glassing. Nothing fun about doing it, its just a pita. A Tyvek suit is good to have, but they are hot as hell. I just dealt with the itchy-ness becuase it was so hot when I was doing my CC stinger.
