Default shifter paint

instead of powder coating my shifters I was thinking of going with paint,,base coat clear coat,,has any body done that before??you guys think it would hold up good??

All the hardware on my boat (including swim platform) are base/clear tom..I would think it would be ok

I painted mine, seems to be holding up.

I painted mine in single stage urethane.
