Adding drop in bow rider in Daytona

Looking to add drop in bow rider in daytona for the kids. Any kits out there or company that specializes in this? Boat is 30' 2001 daytona.

dont know if I've seen any kits but its not really to tough to build from scratch. theres been a couple guys on here that tackled it with pretty good success.

Im no expert, but I think the key would be not overbuilding it and putting a ton of extra weight in the bow. make a basic mold, lay it up smart and use light weight coring where needed.

thats what i would do. but you would have to re enforce heavily in needed areas because the top deck adds alot of support to tie everything together. take that out and i could see major stress cracking under the tunnel

I have always wondered why none of the boat builders ever made a "convertible" bow rider or mid-cabin. Seems to me that a fiberglass cap combined with some fill cushions would easily convert such a boat to a regular cuddy cabin layout with a forward berth for overnighting when needed. Best of both worlds!

Due to the size, unless you put some fancy tech into the 'cap' it would be unmanagable, just the engine hatch on my little resin bucket takes 2 people to move around the shop. A canvas 'camper' top that snaps on would be a much more practical way of turning the bow rider area in to a sleeping area.

My sister had such a critter. GW Invader Bravo. With the FG bow cover on, you'd been hard pressed to know it was an open bow up front. The down side is you gotta plan ahead. You either are going to put the cover on before you leave home and run with it on till you get back home, or you leave it at home before you leave. You don't take it off/on while on the water.

Eliminator and DCB have done boats like that in the past.

Notice all upholstery is below the deck, There is a hard cover that goes on top

The cover does not need to structural, lightweight coring should make it manageable especially if its more that one piece.

just put cap in the water upside-down and tow it around like a dinghy...

You could always call the Eliminator factory in CA. directly and see if they have anyone that can do this for you, closer to your area. Just an idea...
