Default Compound and Wax

Have a painted boat that needs to be detailed. Paint is a single stage about 6 or 7 years old. Need a good medium compound and a good wax that will work well on a boat. What's everyone using?
Thanks

Go to an auto body supply shop .... Talk to them or bring the boat. They will be able to steer you in the right direction. It's not just about the right product... It's how you do the job. Without a good coach your gonna do a lot of damage. If you have any doubt it WAY cheaper to pay someone to do it than to mess it up and get it repaired.

Says it will remove 8 and 400 scratches. Mine don't have 400 grit scratches but is a bit dull. Is it that good?

Hand or buffer and what pad?

Tks

Dave, what do you suggest for newer paint like mine that just needs a quick rub-out and then some protection before it hits the water?

if its weathered single stage i still like Totally Buff with a wool pad, and its the only time i use wool on paint to. You can follow it with something finer like 3M's 6064 and foam then Vitreo. I've got a ten year old Imron job on a Skater in the shop that TotallyBuff compound is doing an amazing job on, you can work tough old single stage jobs like gelcoat.

Give it to me for a day or two in the spring? Heck i might even be out that way, Brian should be ready for a final around then as well. Your boat just needs a quick hit with a fine polish and wax to bring it to a hundred percent. Its had a lot of traffic and finger prints on it since it was painted. Your boat needs maybe an hour or two with a foam pad at best.

OK, we'll figure something out then. There is some overspray on it from the transom re-rig. We'll need to cut that down/off.
