hello, I know post is older
but I just went thru this, cut out transom and main stringer
had it all replaced
as others stated it a job.
I posted a lot of photos

I took a circular saw , set the depth to maybe 1 or 1.25,,cut a cross hatch pattern in transom. made it easier for removing rotted wood.

Remember this restoration process if you plan to keep your Scarab for another 10+ years. Why?......because you will likely get opportunity to redo the transom and stringers again.

you ought to reply a pic with your beautiful panther attached.
someone mention you lowered the floor in yours, did you have to remake the gas tank to lower the floor? I have cut my cockpit out of mine and stringers and contemplating lowering the floor.

My floor is lowered on the Port and Stb side and it is slightly lower in the middle over the gas tank. It is a 1 pc unit that is trimmed in SS. Let looks pretty good and really helps you hunker down when running hard.

WOW, 30 FT SCARAB WITH ALPHA'S????
I HAD 86 26 NOVA SPYDER W TW 330HPS RARE,,WITH ALPHAS..

JUST FYI, I JUST WENT THRU COMPLETE REBUILD ON MY 38 scarab TRANSOM ROTTED...MAIN STRINGER ROTTED TOP TO BOTTOM...
