mayo consistency, 2oz. mix, 10 drops
when product goes to part it feels like sanded grout (glass bubbles)
doesn't kneed into corners / radius very well.
doesn't seem to soak in
really only fills weave of glass.
mustard consistency 2oz mix, 10 drops
same as above

also the product rolls, so if you look at it when your swiping it looks like your rolling a small wooden dowel w/ a bondo spreader,
i know it's not the product, what aam i doing wrong ?
i used it a few months ago w/ same results only on some gouges, 1/16 - 1/8,
today i sanded it all out and re did it w/ the mustard mix, seemed to go better but still think i'm off on something.

edit in, kneaded into the corners w/ my finger

I like to use bristle rollers and laminating roller quite a bit. Helps pullnthe resin through.

are you trying to fair ot the surface with it? i am assuming ve resin?

i have a pint of 3m premium marine filler on hold up at west marine hoping that will be better somehow.
( it should right, some kind of blended resin goop w/ the glass bubbles in it)

problem is on the web it looks like there are multiple kinds of 3m premium, red can, green can, short strand, long strand, no strand, different color cream hardeners.

i'm at the end of the glass work and once the boat is rigged i don't want to grind the dash, fairing and transom to re gel because i used the wrong stuff, even tho the stuff i'm using is specifically for fairing under gel or paint. (per the techs)

worst / deepest area for fairing is 1/8 inch, size of a 50 cent piece, every thing else less than 1/8 inch or less and filler will be very thin

about an hour after the boat gets back in the shade, 6:30-7:00 is when i start sanding / prepping / fairing it's still 90 or more outside, but at least it's out of the sun and has overnight.

Dave has some stuff that works great for that. I have used it on my dash and my transom.

3M Premium is one of the best fairing fillers there is. I dont really care for mixing my own fairing fillers on the fly unless working with epoxy. Pre mix for me all they way, the one i really like a lot is from Michigan Fiberglass and is their house brand MF-210 white styling filler. Like most marine fillers it is best to get on it right when it hardens up as it has a short window where it sands very easy, get on past three or four hours and it gets like sanding a rock.

now i get it when you say to use the pre mix. wish i would have gone that way from the start.
also good to know about sanding right away, rather see several small jobs all the way thru
w/ easier sanding than going after them once they get too hard.
i appreciate your help
