My side floor's and walls were carpet on my boat, I had to take all of this off to do this. The glue and residue were horrible to remove, but finally got it all off and cleaned and sanded. for paint.

Made some more progress this weekend working on exhaust tips and trim tabs. I used the big rubber gaskets for my exhaust tips for seals on tips and used epoxy on all the screws. Under water lights and trim tabs I used 4200 3m white on lights and black on tabs. Put 3m blue tape about a 1/8" from all of these items and when I pulled the screws tight finished the bead around the outsides of these and then pulled the tape off.

Take your boat to glassdave as he is the pro for fiberglass & transom work. Last I heard, he was now taking new orders with a 45 day guaranteed turn around time including a 20% winter discount 😎😜. Please just send him an email.

Good looking work. You should be done in time for warm weather.

Thank you, I am trying to do the best job I can, I would have never tried this in a million years if not for Offshore only reading every transom repair ever in the search fields and if not for Glass Dave what a blessing it is to have someone that will walk you through the process and post for all of us to learn and do from his many hours of trying and learning through the years. I am hoping to be done with this by Apr 30 and have a water test. I have a lot of wiring that needs sorted out and redone while I am here. need to plumb tabs and new wiring and gauges for them. install new depth finder puck actually going to install two, one for a backup since they epoxy to the floor under engine. going to redo bilge pump and add a second to only work on switch non automatic on the second one. rewire and reset engine. Daughter is getting Married in March and my wife has me doing millions of honey do's for this also so I am very limited to time on this from work and wedding.

I guess when the built my boat they did that for the other side of the fold down ladder hardware nuts that went into the swim platform area and not to the outside.
