Anyone else selling their Formula w/twin big blocks?

Besides me, anyone else selling their twin engine Formula?

I have many reasons for selling mine. (Just started a new business and could use the extra $$$)
Anyone else feeling the pinch of high gas prices?

I hate to see her go, but I figure I can go bigger and faster in a few years when finances are better.

Would only do so to go bigger!

Season is short in this climate so have to make the most of it.

Not like I drive it to work everyday so gas cost :drink: a necessary evil.

I do understand about needing $$ for a new company I did it a few years ago but in long run it will be worth it I have a 312 at nelems marine for sale ,I bougt a 353 and did not need both boats. It is not easy to let go but give it acouple of years and there is always another one to be found.

Me too, Lonestar. Just looking for a TG, step or not. But looking for the "right" one. The search can get long and frustrating but the right one is always out there.

Anybody know if the Poker Run edition 382 that was for sale in the classifieds ever sold? Looked to be a spotless boat but I can't do anything till mine goes bye bye. :(

Earlier this year I was very ready to sell my 242LS and move up to something bigger like a 311 with big blocks. I can afford the boat, the insurance, maintenance and the storage. But as I ran the numbers the price of fuel did not compute. We use our boat every Saturday and Sunday from April --> October. If I bought a bigger boat with twins I couldn't afford the gas at $3 or so a gallon and would end up sitting rather than boating. So I bought another toy car instead and will able to get in a full season of boating. In my case less is more!

Mine could have been bought real cheap Sunday. Lost a motor!
Hoping to put off complete re-builds til winter, but apparently my winter has already started. Just took the boat to the mechanic. 2 rebuilds, 1/ maybe 2 new gimbals, will be cleaning/ painting most everything in the bilge while it's empty.

Why couldn't that have happened on the last day of the season LAST year, not opening day this year! As I had said in another thread, the gas prices are all relative, we pay wayyy to much for alcohol, we actually pay for water in bottles when we grew up drinking from a hose. there are so many different ways to look at it that it could drive a guy nuts, So I just have fun..And one day I'll be rich like Norty:D

Hey I don't disagree with you there...gas prices are not that bad when indexed for inflation or compared to prices in Europe. But that doesn't change the fact that it will be easy to burn $300+ in gas per weekend this season. If you can afford it, more power to you to rich guys :) Four weekends a month and all of the sudden you're talking about "real money." I'm just a working stiff with a boating problem. The blowboaters will be really pleased with themselves this summer.

Because I didn't buy the boat until December!!!! Compression was fine then but I expected rebuilds this coming winter. For the last 4 years I've always had 2 boats...now that I'm down to just one it leaves me stranded. Hope to be on the water in 4-5 weeks.

I wanna be just like offshore. I'll sell my 311 when it's time to get a TG. Maybe next year.

There ya go! I have mine siting there in the driveway, my painter is going by to fix a couple of the spots that the lovely bay debris leaves on them and then I'll start the ad. I'm looking forward to getting out there this year, been too busy to get either of them out. soon though soon. i'm keeping the Tiger on the South river. My daughter is real excited as she is the only kidl in her class to drive a 42 foot boat.

Chuck, what kind of fun car did you get?

I bought a Porsche 968 convertible. I've had a number of Porsches over the past couple of years. Last one was a 1969 911E, fun car but it wasn't a modern car. I looked at Boxsters, but I don't fit in those. The 911 I wanted was just too expensive. So this one will do nicely and Amy likes to drive it. Even gets 25 mpg if you have a light foot.
