Looking and Selling

With the help of all the Formula owners on this fourm, would like to find a 1999-2002 353 Fastech in good condition with a trailer. Would consider all motor options. Have looked at a few in NJ and was very disapointed with what I saw for the price offered. It seems that the owners of these boats just didn't give a crap about care to the finish or interior of their boats.

On the other note, I didn't want to step on the thread by Formula 271 and figured I'd start another thread in case he has already found his next boat. As Thirdbird said, my 303 is listed in the classified section at a reasonable price. Pass it along if you all would. Thanks in advance!

Dave

axapowell,
I'm still looking for a 353 and will be listing my 271 as soon as I can take some pics. I haven't found any in New York to look at except for some salt water boats. :(

Re: Looking and Selling

I recognize a few of those. :D as having been for sale two years ago when I was looking. Weed out the price crackheads, the junk, and the boats that aren't really "for sale"...there's 5 or 6 possibilities there. :p

Re: Looking and Selling

Dave, just my two cents but I wouldn't rule a boat out just because it has been "used" in salt water. As long as it hasn't been "STORED" in salt water. If some is as finnicky as me the boat should be in decent shape. I keep mine on a trailer at my home, and flush each motor for fifteen minutes after each use, even if it's two oclock in the morning. Luckily my neighbors don't seem to mind. :D

One thing I would do though on a salt water boat, is to yank a riser off a manifold and inspect the interior. That will tell you what the rest of the inside of the motor probably looks like. Just a thought. Russ
