What's it worth?

I'm looking at a '99 353 fastec w/200 hrs in very good shape with twin 700 sc motors. what is a ballprk figure for this boat? I need your help to buy it this week. I don't know formulas so I don't know what to offer. I can't really get a feel for it off nada and kbb. Your help would be appreciated.

Most 353's seem to be going in the 80's to low 90's. With the extra power 100K seems realistic. The owner may be hung up on a little more, worth it if you just love the boat.

Just my opinion but 200 hours is getting towards the end of a 700sc's first life. It's probably atleast getting on needing the top ends done if not more. Not a deal breaker by any means but consider it when you make your offer.

It belongs to a buddy of mine. I was kinda of drinking when I saw it but it does have the the roots type blowers on top of blue 500's. Are all the boats in classifieds sold or is something wrong with them? I see people looking for 353's and there are 4 or 5 listed.

Re: What's it worth?

most of them are not ready to write a check...just feeling it out. No knock as I understand that. It's a big purchase. I felt around the market for 8 months or so while my boat sold. By that time I knew where they all were that were still available, narrowed the list down in a hurry, and bought one!

Re: What's it worth?

I'm not sure the motors would necessarily add to the value of the boat. In fact, if anything, it might possibly detract from it. I guess it depends on who did the motors, how they wer run, and how they were maintained. Short of Sterling, Zul, or Whipple, I would be more inclined to buy a boat with factory motors.

You also need to consider a boat with bigger power was probably ran harder and needs more maintenance than factory or stock power. After buying my 382 used, I discovered a big problem with one of my drives that needed complete rebuilding. Smoked clutch and twisted vertical and prop shafts.

You better check out the outdrives, if it was the boat that was in Chattanooga for months and months at Erwin, i believe the outdrives are toast.
To much HP(700) for stock bravo1.
Not a very well maintained boat in my opinion.
