Speed Formula 382 fastech
Hi!
How fast will a Formula 382 Fastech run with 2 x 525 HP engines 2 x 600 HP engines 2 x 650 HP engines A 1998 model with 2 x 415 HP (502 engines) is for sale in Norway for an affordable price. An engine builder in my hometown can easily rebuild those engines to 525 HP each without compressor. Cheeers, Toffen G  |

Now are those speeds with, or without, donuts...:D :D |

Hi! Thanks for swift answer. The problem when buying a second hand Formula 382 Fastech from US is Norways import taxes...: Fx price Formula 382 FT with twin 500 EFI's = USD 150.000,- Engine tax = USD 20.000,- Transport from US = USD 10.000,- Value added tax 25% = USD 45.000,- Sum = USD 225.000,- USD 225.000 is equivalent to NOK 1.425.000,- This sum often apply to a Formula 353 Fastech too... This Formula 382 Fastech 1998 model is for sale for NOK 895.000,-. Typically NOK 850.000,- cash. So you have some money to upgrade the engines locally... Those taxes, those taxes... :( Cheeeers, Toffen G :D |

Ahaaaaa, just what I suspected......:drink: :D :D |
Re: Speed Formula 382 fastech
MAN those taxes are killer. You could have an engine(s) dismantled, shipped in parts, and then reassembled for less than the $20,000.00 tax. Consider buying a bare hull and claiming it's worth 50k..... :eureka:

Hi!
Yes, there is a possibility to dismantle the engines and import them as carengines, not paying HP tax. And then buy a second hand hull with "display" price. Cheeeers, Toffen :drink: |

Cheeers, Toffen G :D Depends on three things ... the weight of the boat, how hard you drive it, and how good you are pulling back on the throttles when you get air. I ran a Formula 311 with 645 H.P. motors for 4 years and never had a problem with standard Bravo 1's. The 382 with 645 H.P. will be much harder on the drives due to the extra #3000 lbs weight difference. |
