Whats the fastest you have seen or heard of and what was the set up?

I talked to a guy in Mississippi who had an 89 311 for sale
it had 420 blowers and twin carbs on the original kaama 420 motors each making 625 hp each!!!

the boat was a rare kaama 311 (surface drives)
he said it would do high 80's but was turning 5600+
he thought with some lab work and adding pitch the boat would hit low 90's but he liked the accelleration as it was.

should have bought that boat. he was only asking $48k !!!!!
2.5 years ago.and the boat was cherry.....

I heard of a 311 down in the Miami area that was running twin Chief 850's, that was supposed to be able to kiss 100 mph but this is uncomfirmed. The boat was featured in Chief's advertising for awhile.

I know of a couple that will hit high 80's, kiss 90 on a good day.

I think we hit 80 on I75 bringing the boat down from Michigan .... :D
