Has anyone ever heard of a 330 sunsport rigged with 500's and bravo ones? I was wondering if it was possible to see 70 mph. With the new big 5 blade props it might be possible, I was just curious if it has been done yet.
It would be nice to have a boat with all the room of a sunsport and still run 70. Then redo the front seats to have side by side bolsters, custom dash, thru hull exhuast, k-planes and custom paint. Just thinking out load, what do you think?
Thanks
Don

I don't know what type of power you have but, Hot Boat had an article on 496 HO's with an easy mod of 100 more HP. I have a 400ss with stock 496 HO's that will do 55 mph. Don't get me wrong, that is not cruising speed. But with the mods I should see 60-65 pushing it. That is if the Bravo III drives stay together...... Any thoughts from anyone else?

This is more of a though at this point. More than likely I would buy a 96-99 sunsport with 454 and B3's and redo the entire boat to some motors with around 500hp. I did read the same article last month and 496's would be a good canadate. I just have heard that B3's are only good to 65 mph and I would like to see more than that.

I would predict serious problems with any Bravo-based setup on a boat that heavy. Bravo III HP's have a pretty short lifespan on 400SS's with 500's or 525's. Arnesons or the new Volvo DP-H/DP-R diesel stern drive might take it, though.
