Just got 91 292 SR1
Hey everyone,
I picked up my first Formula last week. All original, 502's, Bravo 1's. Original all the way down to the delivery ticket from Formula, original owners binders in canvas bag. Total of 685 hours, lift kept all its life, no bottom paint. The head has never been used. The ice tray in the frig is still in the plastic on the shelf. Been looking for and SR1 for a while, just stumbled across this on the local Sunpaper, one line add. Now for the best part, sale price of $30K. After survey and sea trial, man what a great ride. As many smiles as I get driving my Corvette Z06. Had to share with everyone. |

Re: Just got 91 292 SR1
292 with 502s,,,,,,,,, thats gotta get along pretty good. Should easily be low to mid 70s. What props does that set up have? I'm interested to know how fast it is.
I almost bought a 292 before getting my 311. Really liked that model but after I compared cabin space with a 311, I had to have the 311. But, you got a really nice deal on that boat. I'd say with a little time you could turn that around for an 8-10 grand profit. Good luck with it, hope it's a nice one. |

Congrats. Welcome to our "family"
Looks vaguely familiar to my 311, MINUS the silent thunder box of course (couldn't help that)...:D |
Re: Just got 91 292 SR1
Chuck, it is indeed the same boat. The previous owner, Russ, was at the Rendezvous, and it was the Baltimore Sun. Really nice boat.
Thirdbird, I was estimating the same if I turned the boat after a good detailing, and maintenence on the motors/drives. I'm already hooked. Would love to get a ride in a 311 or 357, I think I have the bug. |

Treads-
Welcome to the formula family. You won't find a better group to belong too. I have a 1991 311 that had similar colors to yours. That is of cousre before I redid mine. I have rode in all of the older formula's 242, 272, 292, 311 and a 357. The ride between your 292 and mine 311 are very similar. The 357 has a much better ride but it is also a lot heavier and longer. If you are ever in the Fort Myers area let me know and I will take you for a ride in a 311. Don |
