A-Bay Boathouse Boys
Hey,
How about a Sandy Pond get-together this weekend. Hang on the beach, lots of beers and cocktails, bonfire? Waddaya say? Come on down. :drink: |
Re: A-Bay Boathouse Boys
Yo...'Bird
launching Thurs. @ Henderson? and heading over to Kingston for the night to catch a waterfront blues concert that night. Then gonna cruise west and up into the Bay of Quinte, or overnight at a place called Waupouse (Upper Gap). All tentative. Might make it back across the Lake Saturday. I can't get in the pond...had to plow across the sandbar a month ago! Plus the water in the pond is... well... brown. If it's calm enough to anchor on the Lakeside Sat., we would love to meet up. Or perhaps you're interested in K-Town? Meet Fri. night or Saturday? I have a schedule of all the bands and venues. Sept./Oct. is crazy for me so this may be it, other than a day trip. PM me your cell #s again if you would. |
Re: A-Bay Boathouse Boys
Not doing the Kingston Blues Fest this year. Been there the last three years, it's getting way too popular and dock space is unattainable.
Just gonna hang at the "Dirty Pond". |
Re: A-Bay Boathouse Boys
I'm thinking I may get a space on Thurs. I can imagine the weekend is not good for getting dockage. Plan on bugging out Fri. and doing some boating west of Kingston. I was up in there a couple years ago for a few days sailing. It's nice.

Re: A-Bay Boathouse Boys
Yeah, Julie and I have cruised the Bay of Quinte over to Trenton then through the Murray Canal. Nice waters over there. Like to head up the Trent-Severn someday.
When you get down the Bay of Quinte a ways, look for the little town of Picton. There is a really cool lake on top of a huge hill. It's called Lake on the Mountain. Catch a cab ride (5 minute ride) from the marina to the top. Very cool view and that lake is like 600-700 feet above lake level. Legend has it it's fed via underwater cave from Lake Erie. Worth the stop. |
Re: A-Bay Boathouse Boys
yep, I've heard about that lake. ;)

Rip,
Those lines in my new slip (yours) just don't seem to work right. I'm thinkin' about cuttin' 'um to length. We'll be in the bay this weekend and then from Tuesday through Labor day the following week. On a Navman 5500 note, what chip did you get with yours? I was looking at one for 549 before 175 rebate. need to make the deal soon for the rebate. |

Can we get in the pond? If so, how 'bout Friday to Saturday, if the weather holds? Dave P.S. We had a GREAT TIME last weekend, but maybe a little too much to drink?....NAH! |
Re: A-Bay Boathouse Boys
Nice Pics,
Rip, Is your chip M-NA-M103.02 ? The .02 is a July 05 rev so yours may be a .01 |

I'm putting in Friday morning for the weekend. Channel to the Pond is fine all the way until you make the hard south turn just inside. Shallows up to a little less than three feet for about 50 yards or so. With drives up high, no problem. Sand will churn up but it won't burry itself. Thinking of driving all the way down or trailering? Dave |
Re: A-Bay Boathouse Boys
