Formula271 needs our thoughts

Fellow Formula owner, frequent forum contributor and friend, Formula271 has suffered a serious injury while at work. I work with Gary and was shocked when I heard the news.

I won't divulge details of his injuries in keeping with his right to privacy. But, I can say Gary fell from a permanent plant ladder and was seriously injured. It's not life threatening but it is going to lay him up for quite a while.

Some kind words from the Formula Family will surely help to raise Gary's spirits.

Hope you recover quickly Gary and if you need any help with off-season storage of your boat, I'm here for you.

Exactly....boating memories helped take my mind off the bad stuff when I was laid up.
My wishes for your full and speedy recovery.

Re: Formula271 needs our thoughts

Hey Guys,
I got out the hospital on Thursday after spending a week there. I have a one vertebrae with 3 fractures and pretty much broke every bone and tendon in my left hand. I have to wear a back brace unless I'm lying down flat on my back for the next 3 months. I have 9 pins, an internal plate and screws and external hardware on my left wrist and hand (good thing I'm right handed). I also have a small fracture in my neck but it is not significant. All that for falling 5 ft. backwards off of a ladder and landing on a concrete floor. So I'll be out of work for at least 3 months. I sold my 271 about a month ago so I'm all set on winterizing but I'm still shopping for the next boat, I guess that will be from the computer for now. Thanks for the offers of help.

Jeesh Gary, you really got banged up!!!! :(

I hope all goes well while you're recovering. On-line boat shopping is fun. Sounds like you'll have plenty of time for it.

We're all thinking about you at "The Point".
