382 Headliner

Marine Max wants $3,000, plus materials, to replace the hearliner in my main cabin (not the forward berth).

Does that sound reasonable?

How long to do it? If the shop rate was $125 an hour, then that would be 3 days (8 hours a day).

It's a pretty big job, pretty complicated, but I imagine there are some smaller firms in your area that would jump at the chance for less than 3K labor.I would ask around, this is not the type of job a big outfit like MarineMax really would want to do IMHO.

You're right: they don't want to do it, and have contacted 2 outside vendors. The first said 3 grand. Haven't heard from the second one yet.

Thanks for all of the input.

Sure didn'y look to me like a big job: just remove and recover 3 panels. Unfortunately the "removal" requires disassembling much of the cabinetry.

Yep, they estimated 3 days @ $85/hr.
